The Masters in Environmental Health and Safety and Human Factors from Technological University Dublin is a recognised qualifying programme for Registered Membership of the IHFES. The same master also offers a and a Continuous Professional Development Module on Human Factors and Ergonomics.
The MSc/HDip in Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety and the BSc Occupational Health and Safety Management programmes offered at the University of Galway are recognised qualifying programmes for application for IHFES Registered Membership. For the HDip or BSc graduates please note that these applications for membership are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The Masters in Safety and Ergonomics from the University of Limerick was previously recognised qualifying programme but it is currently not offered.
The Society recognises international qualifying masters HF/E programmes for the purpose of membership applications on a case by case basis.
The Society also recognises that professionals can accumulate competencies in HF/E at various stages in ones career through various different methods. In such case, applicants for Registered Membership can request that their accumulated education be considered through a Competencies Assessment framework.
